About us
Built on 25 Years of Exterior Surface Construction
Justin Tew founded Seaside Surface Solutions to bring one product to the coast — the one that finally gets it right.
Our Founder
Meet Justin Tew
Justin Tew has spent 25 years building exterior surfaces — concrete driveways, paver installations, and asphalt work on residential properties throughout coastal South Carolina.
Over those 25 years, he built something most surface contractors don’t have: a working knowledge of this specific region. The soil conditions. The drainage patterns. The way salt air and humidity interact with materials that were designed for inland environments.
And over those same 25 years, he watched traditional surfaces fail. Concrete stained. Pavers shifted. Asphalt softened. The environment was never the problem — the material was.
When Justin encountered resin-bound surfacing, the decision to change direction was straightforward. He had spent decades diagnosing why conventional materials underperform on the coast.
Seaside Surface Solutions is the result of that decision. One product. One region. One standard of installation.
Justin personally supervises every project, conducts every site evaluation, and backs every installation with a 20-year product warranty.
Who we are
About Seaside Surface Solutions
Seaside Surface Solutions is a specialist resin-bound surfacing company based in coastal South Carolina. We work exclusively on high-value residential properties — driveways, pool decks, patios, and outdoor living surfaces — across the coastal corridor from Charleston to Hilton Head.
We do not offer multiple surfacing types. Resin-bound is the only system we install, and that focus is deliberate. Coastal properties require a different approach to base preparation, drainage, and site assessment than what works fifteen miles inland.
Every consultation is private. Every recommendation is site-specific. Every project is managed personally from start to finish.
The Marerial
The Product We Chose
We install a UV-resistant aliphatic resin-bound system — a two-part formulation that bonds natural aggregate into a hard, permeable, and exceptionally durable surface. Solvent-free, low in VOC, and fully compliant with Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) standards.
Why it performs where other surfaces don’t:
Aliphatic resin does not yellow, fade, or degrade under prolonged UV exposure.
Water passes through at up to one gallon per square foot per second — managing stormwater the way coastal properties need surfaces to.
Safe in wet and dry conditions, tested to international standards. Essential on pool surrounds and coastal pathways.
No weeds without chemical treatment. No resealing. No replacement.
Our Process
How We Install
Every project starts with a site evaluation — not a quote. We assess the substrate condition, drainage performance, and coastal conditions of your property before any material decisions are made.
OVERLAY INSTALLATION
Where existing concrete is structurally sound, we apply the resin-bound system directly over it. No demolition. Same quality finish. Less disruption and cost where the ground allows it.
GROUND-UP INSTALLATION
Where the existing surface is compromised, we excavate and rebuild from the ground up — with full sub-base preparation engineered for coastal drainage. On barrier island properties, getting the base right is what separates a 20-year surface from one that fails in five.

Permeable surfacing that manages stormwater and meets federal Clean Water Act requirements.
Two clearly defined service pathways matched to the specific condition of your property.
Start With a Conversation
Every project begins with a site visit, not a phone quote. Justin visits the property, assesses the existing conditions, and outlines the right approach before any commitment is made.
There are no standard packages. Each property is evaluated on its own terms — and the recommendation you receive is specific to your site, your ground, and the finish standard your property warrants.
